Sustainable Chemical Management

Alhamra Fabrics is continuously improving chemical efficiency across its manufacturing processes through responsible chemical management and process optimization. Current initiatives include chemical bath reuse, caustic recovery, improved process controls, and optimized monitoring practices to reduce chemical consumption and environmental impact.Moving forward, we are committed to adopting advanced technologies and best practices to further optimize chemical use, enhance resource efficiency, and reduce the environmental footprint of our operations while supporting sustainable textile manufacturing.

Reduction in chemical consumption

Through smart practices, we have reduced the chemical consumption in different processes e.g. fabric processing, printing etc. The initiatives for the reduction of chemical usage includes reroute of processes, multiple use of chemical bath, recovery of caustic etc. In our engineering division we have replaced cooling tower with radiator for engine cooling with complete elimination of chemical involvement. Likewise, in our water demineralization process, we have reduced 30% chemical consumption by upgradation of monitoring frequencies. All of these initiatives are not only creating impact on our resource utilization but also plays a considerable role in pollution load reduction at wastewater treatment plant.

Caustic Recovery Plant (CRP)

Alhamra Fabrics operates a caustic recovery system to recover and reuse caustic soda from the mercerizing process, reducing chemical consumption and supporting resource efficiency. We are committed to continuously improving the performance of our recovery system and exploring advanced technologies to further increase recovery efficiency and strengthen our sustainable manufacturing practices.

Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemical (ZDHC)

Alhamra Fabrics is committed to strengthening its chemical management practices in line with recognized sustainability standards. We have initiated the adoption of selected principles of the ZDHC (MRSL) and are continuously enhancing our CMP to reduce the use of hazardous chemicals. For sustainability, working is in process for gradual implementation of the ZDHC MRSL and Wastewater Guidelines through improved chemical selection, supplier engagement, wastewater monitoring, and ongoing environmental performance improvements with long-term goal is to achieve broader alignment with the ZDHC framework.
